Carlsbad offers spring sports

CARLSBAD — Winter and spring sports activities have begun throughout the city of Carlsbad.
Full team registrations for the 5-on-5 basketball leagues will be held through Jan. 30 at 3096 Harding St., with games beginning the week of Feb. 24. All games are held at Calavera or Stagecoach Gyms on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Men’s and Women’s leagues are offered for adults 18 and up. Recreational, Intermediate and Competitive divisions are offered. Officials fee are $30 per team per game. The cost per team is $375 for residents and $425 for nonresidents.
Team registrations for fall soccer leagues are being held from Jan. 19 to Feb. 6 at 3096 Harding St. All soccer games will be played on a regulation-size field with lights. The fields are synthetic turf, which lessens the chance of canceled games due to inclement weather. Games will be played on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at Poinsettia or Aviara Community Parks. The season begins the week of March 2. Full team registrations are being accepted. Women’s leagues are offered for adults 18 and up. Open, Recreational, 30 and up, 35 and up and Competitive divisions are being offered. Games will be played from 6 to 10 p.m. Referee fees are from $46 to $60 per game, per team (based on game lengths). Cost per team is $350 for residents and $400 for nonresidents.
