Carlsbad Inn robbed in early morning hours

CARLSBAD — The Carlsbad Residence Inn was robbed in the early morning hours, Aug.6 by an unidentified white male. The suspect, who was not located by responding police officers, is described as 6-feet tall and in his 20’s.
The suspect displayed a handgun to the hotel clerk and then demanded cash.
After receiving the cash, the suspect left the hotel through a rear exit without injuring the clerk. The suspect was wearing all black clothing, including a black mask and gloves. The amount of money taken during the robbery has not yet been determined. This investigation is ongoing.
