Carlsbad Cultural Arts Office awards grants

CARLSBAD — The City of Carlsbad Arts Commission named its recipients for the 2011 Community Arts Grants.
The Arts Grant program, now in its 25th year, provides cultural opportunities for Carlsbad residents and strengthens local arts organizations through matching grants that cover part of the cost of projects taking place in Carlsbad. Eighteen nonprofit organizations and schools will share $25,000 for activities taking place in 2011.
On Dec. 2, the Arts Commission approved the recommendations made by a peer review panel of local arts professionals and community representatives. For more information on the Community Arts Grants Program, contact the Carlsbad Cultural Arts Office at (760) 434-2920.
