CARLSBAD — The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce has been offering a wide array of events to help members boost visibility, sharpen business skills, raise awareness of community issues and network with business leaders.
Its Small Business Success Center has been a focal point, as 80 percent of the businesses that belong to the chamber have five or fewer employees.
The Small Business Success Center is a place for members to solve all of their small business needs; from start-up to going public and beyond. The SBSC is a source for counseling, planning, knowledge and research to get businesses going in the right direction. Small businesses power the Carlsbad-area economy and the SBSC is there to help.
The services offered include:

Also offer SCORE counseling, a national association of active and retired business men and women who volunteer to share their expertise with small businesses, as well as new business start-ups.
— Facilitating member introductions, presentation of chamber resources, outside resources, business referrals, and marketing opportunities.
— Networking , evaluation of the most effective activities for businesses, introductions at events, introduction of referral partners, and invitations to small group meetings.
— Workshops. Ongoing workshops for small business members targeted at starting a business and improving overall business and networking skills.
Some of the events put on by the chamber include multiple city chamber meetings which give members the opportunity to get to know more about Carlsbad’s neighboring business communities, meet business professionals from all over North County and widen networking circles of contacts and friends.
