CAMP PENDLETON — A safer game of paintball is now available for the 12-and-under crowd.The Paintball Park at Camp Pendleton, 1700 Vandegrift Blvd., Oceanside, announced the launch of its new KidSplat arena. The new game area is for youngsters ages 8 to 12, giving them an opportunity join in the fun of paintball without parents worrying about bruises or the hassle of stains thanks to a new gun called the SplatMaster.
The Splatmaster gun, crafted for youngsters, is smaller, easy to handle and fires at a low velocity, making it safer but still fun.
An astro-turf KidSplat arena and obstacle course is now open for KidSplat Saturdays and Sundays at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Packages include admission, rental equipment (SplatMaster guns, chest protectors, and masks) and unlimited splat ammo for each person, as well as a party coordinator/referee for your group. Costs start at $199.
For entry onto the Marine base, bring driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance to the Vandegrift base entrance.
The Paintball Park is open to the public every weekend, and is available for private groups by reservation any day of the week. The Paintball Park at Camp Pendleton has eight playing fields, each complete with obstacles such as military tanks, tents, castles and King Kong.
KidSplat is a new game created for youngsters ages 8 to 12, as a fun alternative to paintball. Players use, spring-loaded, low-impact guns to shoot Splat Ammo,
