Bakery offers gluten-free and vegan treats

ENCINITAS — Foodie Amor All Natural bakery opened its doors the week of July 30 at 918 N. Coast Highway 101, Leucadia, just next door to Karina’s Taco Shop. It is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

In the kitchen, you’ll find owner Christine Miller, who bakes some gluten free and some vegan treats, with everything natural – including biscottis, cookies, brownies, breads, bars and seasonal candies — all made without any preservatives.

Miller says she does things “the old-fashioned way,” learned from her grandmother while growing up on her family’s farm in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley.

If you want to burn off calories gathered from the bakery’s treats, you may notice a contraption by the door that looks like an elliptical machine. That’s actually a StreetStrider, a mobile elliptical that her husband, Kevin sells via his company—and if you want to give it a demo, he’s happy to offer a test drive down Neptune Avenue.

“We thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to ‘keep Leucadia funky’ with our delightful bakery of sweet and savory, all-natural treats combined with StreetStrider, the elliptical that moves you,” Miller said.

You may already be familiar with Miller’s confections as her baked goods are already carried at Nordstrom Espresso Cafes—and locally at Café Ipe in Leucadia, Seaside Market in Cardiff, and Solana Beach Coffee Company.
