OCEANSIDE — Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF), partnering with Oceanside Public Library, will hold “Write On, Oceanside! 2,” a second annual book fair celebrating Oceanside-only authors.This year the event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 28, in and around the Oceanside Civic Center Plaza and Community Rooms of Oceanside Library, downtown Civic Center branch, 330 N. Coast Highway 101. It will take place outdoors with food vendors and music, panel discussions, and a book-club roundtable. Admission to “Write On, Oceanside! 2” is free and attendees will have an opportunity to talk with their favorite authors, meet new local authors, take pictures, get autographs and purchase books directly from the authors.
In 2011, visitors of “Write On, Oceanside!” had an opportunity to talk with such published Oceanside authors as Tom Morrow, known for his works “Dark Angel: The Case of the Classified Murders;” Stryker Meyer with “On the Ground: The Secret War in Vietnam;” Jim Ryan with “Murder in Oceana;” Jannine Corte-Petska, romance novelist, author of “The Lily and the Falcon” and “Surrender to Honor;” and Stephen Prosapio, who wrote “Ghost of Rosewood Asylum.”
Also present were youth writers Deborah Copeland, author of “Kids at Latimer High” series and Marta Arroyo with “The Story of Senora Tamales” Plus a special speech by Oceanside author Victor Villasenor.
