ESCONDIDO — Authorities arrested and extradited an 18-year-old Escondido man accused of murder, according to a press release.
Javier Seda, 18, was booked in the killing of 27-year-old Fabian Arellano, who was gunned down on March 16 near Escondido Boulevard and 9th Avenue.
According to the release, Seda, U.S. citizen, fled to Mexico after the shooting. Escondido police coordinated with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and Mexican officials to locate and apprehend Seda.
Arellano was found at about 12:30 a.m. with a gunshot to the head. He was transported to Palomar Medical Center where he died.
According previous reports from EPD, witness saw the victim walking south on Escondido Boulevard just before the shooting. Seda, meanwhile, was allegedly seen exiting a vehicle and firing multiple shots at the victim before getting back in the car and fleeing the scene.
He is being held in the Vista Detention Facility.
