SAN BRUNO — A San Bruno explosion fire on Sept. 9 has killed at least four people and destroyed 38 homes according to MercuryNews.com.
More than 50 others were injured and KTVU-Channel 2 reports two people have been arrested for looting in the fire area.
Rescue workers continue to search for victims in the rubble over 15 acres of Crestmoor Canyon.
A resident of a nearby apartment complex, Yasmine Kury, said she saw black smoke drift over Interstate 280 following a thunderous explosion at about 6:15 p.m.
“We heard it and felt it, and everyone ran out of the building,” Kury said. “It was just a huge explosion.”
What some residents thought at first was a plane crash, Pacific Gas & Electric Officials are saying was the eruption of a natural gas pipeline which fueled the flames. PG&E has not yet determined the cause of the fire.
