Art, food and fun at Taste of Del Mar

DEL MAR — The annual Del Mar Taste & Art Stroll returns to the heart of Del Mar Village from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 5. Presented by the Del Mar Village Association and the city of Del Mar, this family-fun event includes a free art stroll with original artwork from local and regional juried artists, ticketed restaurant tastings, live music, beer and wine sip stops and a dog stroll area for man’s best friend.
The event opens with the free Art Stroll along Camino Del Mar to view and purchase paintings, sculptures, photography, jewelry and ceramics, stopping to interact with the artists and art enthusiasts at each booth.
From noon to 3 p.m., the focus shifts to the culinary arts and talents of Del Mar chefs. More than 22 of Del Mar restaurants will serve ticketed Taste participants with samples and bites of their signature dishes. Participating restaurants include Pacifica Del Mar, Jake’s Del Mar, KITCHEN 1540, SHIMBASHI Izakaya and Prepkitchen. Taste participants can also cast their vote for the Tastiest Taste at the Ranch and Coast booth and enter a drawing to win prizes. Taste Tickets are $25 before the event and $30 on event day. For just an additional $10, guests can swing by any sip stop and sample eight or more tasters of wine and local craft beer.
Throughout the day, free live music and entertainment will set the tone across the Del Mar Village. Stages set up along Camino Del Mar and at various venues, including L’Auberge Amphitheater and the Del Mar Plaza, will host some of San Diego’s best jazz, folk, rock and cover bands.
