Annual Oceanside Days of Art festival takes to the streets

OCEANSIDE — For two days 96 artist booths filled five blocks of downtown Oceanside for the 19th annual Days of Art festival on April 16 and April 17. Ceramics, stained glass, watercolors, acrylic paintings, fine jewelry and pen and ink drawings were on display and available for sale.
“This year there are 35 brand new artists,” Stacey Seeburger, Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation artist selection committee member, said. “You’ll see a different variety of art then you’ve seen in the past.”
There were also popular regulars who displayed their artwork. Jewelry artist Kimber Tetralito showed her original handmade glass beads and jewelry.
Local stained glass artist Don Myers led children in creating a glass mosaic in the kids’ art area.
Special sections highlighted military, senior and Oceanside and Carlsbad student artwork.
There was live entertainment on two stages that ranged from rock, surf, punk groups including Shoot Z Pier, to Broadway show acts from the Center Stage Senior Dancers, whose performers range in age from 60 to 90 years young.
The festival also featured a food court that served up outdoor food favorites like tri tip steak and kettle corn.
