CARLSBAD — On Nov. 3 at 12:53 p.m. Carlsbad Police received a call regarding a “Peeping Tom” in the 3100 block of Lincoln Street. Victims reported that the suspect, Raul Escobar, was watching them through a window. The victims gave police dispatchers Escobar’s description and reported that he was intoxicated. Victims also related that Escobar was leaving the area on his motorcycle.
Carlsbad officers responded and located Escobar driving on his motorcycle at Carlsbad Boulevard and Carlsbad Village Drive. Escobar drove east on Carlsbad Village Drive from Carlsbad Boulevard. A Carlsbad Police officer attempted to stop Escobar, but he fled. Officers pursued Escobar east on Carlsbad Village Drive, until he collided into the curb at Victoria Avenue and was ejected from his motorcycle.
Carlsbad Fire Department paramedics responded and transported Escobar to Scripps Hospital.
Escobar is charged with driving while intoxicated, evading the police, prowling and “peeping.”
