Adult musical ensembles welcome beginners

CARLSBAD — Do you have an instrument just sitting around waiting to be played? Perhaps you want to learn a new instrument. The North Coast Strings and North Coast New Horizons Band are welcoming new members. The Museum of Making Music is inviting interested adults to attend a free informational session to learn more about the ensembles, meet the instructors, and ask questions, at the Museum of Making Music, 5790 Armada Drive.
The North Coastal New Horizons Band information session will take place at 7 p.m. Sept. 8. The Carlsbad affiliate of the National New Horizons Band program, the North Coastal New Horizons Band is a musical ensemble that offers adults, primarily 50 and older, the chance to learn how to play a concert band instrument and perform with other musicians. The band is hosted by the Museum of Making Music and directed by Allison Hargis. For more information, visit the North Coastal New Horizons Band site at www.ncnhband.org
