Time to settle in to environmental reform
Now that the election is over and our future leaders have been chosen, it’s time to really show them how important it is to see environmental reform and how crucial it is that we start now. Science has shown the absolute need to reduce our emissions by 80 percent by the year 2050 in order to avoid anymore irreversible effects of climate change. We can see these effects already here in our backyard where our coasts are narrowing and erosion is rapidly forming on our beaches. This not only effects our way of life, but also our economy, which heavily depends on tourism here in California.
Although representative Brian Bilbray has stated he is an advocate for our environment, we still need to see real solutions to this crisis and we need to see them now. We need to see Bilbray invest in clean renewable energy such as wind and solar and to keep our air clean by capping and reducing pollution. Our planet is a precious place to live and as we continue to do our best to protect it in our day-to-day lives, we need our leaders to do the same.
