NO TO DECONTROL

A crowd of concerned citizens gather on the Oceanside City Hall steps to protest vacancy decontrol and to turn in 15,400 signatures June 23. Oceanside City Council passed the vacancy decontrol measure in May. Vacancy decontrol allows mobile home park owners to raise space rents. Once the signatures are verified, council can either call a referendum and overturn their decision or place the item on the next election ballot for citizens to decide.
