Oceanside welcomes transportation group

OCEANSIDE — The staff and board of directors of Full Access & Coordinated Transportation (FACT), hosted city officials and guests at its open house in downtown Oceanside. Oceanside Mayor James Wood and City Council member Gary Felien welcomed FACT to the Oceanside community after the organization recently moved its offices from Vista to 600 Mission Ave.
FACT is a non-profit organization that provides transportation referrals for specialized needs and coordinates transportation resources in San Diego County. In 2005, community activists formed FACT to promote improved transportation for seniors, persons with disabilities and other transportation disadvantaged populations.
A seven-member board comprised of elected officials, transportation experts and community activists governs FACT. In 2010 FACT introduced a Transnet funded senior dial-a-ride called RideFACT in Ramona.
FACT is planning to introduce countywide medical transportation for seniors and persons with disabilities in the near future.
