ENCINITAS — The 2011 Encinitas Arts Alive Auction and reception will be held at 1 p.m. June 5 in the Cardiff Town Center, 2005 San Elijo Ave.
The painted banners, which have been on display along the Coast Highway from Leucadia to Cardiff since the unveiling in February, will be up for bid, giving patrons an opportunity to own one of these unique pieces of art.
This is the 12th year for the Arts Alive programs. Starting in 2000 by the 101 Artists Colony and the Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association, Arts Alive programs have become popular in many communities across the country. During the past few years Leucadia 101 and Cardiff-By-The-Sea MainStreet have participated in the six mile-long art show.
This year’s Funding Sponsors include: Cardiff Seaside Market, 101 Artists Colony, Cardiff By-The-Sea Town Council, Carol Holub, and funded in part by the County Board of Supervisors at the recommendation of Supervisor Pam Slater-Price.
“Silent” bids are being accepted now by calling D.E.M.A. at (760) 943-1950. To see the banners online, visit www.artsaliveencinitas.com.
The artists who have painted these banners give freely of their time and talent to create original works of art for the entire community to enjoy. Proceeds raised are split between the artist and several non-profits.
