Ranch fashionistas featured on ‘Rachael Ray’

RANCHO SANTA FE — Ranch resident Sara Levy and her twin sister Ruth were featured on the “Rachael Ray” show episode set to air April 15. Sara and Ruth Levy are the entrepreneurs behind YourFashionCode.com, a Web site and service dedicated to helping women find their unique fashion style based on divine proportion, also known as the golden ratio or phi.
Leonardo Da Vinci used divine proportion in all his paintings and sculptures, as did fashion icon Valentino, to name a few. The classic proportions of their artwork and design have withstood the test of time, so Sara and Ruth Levy put the same test to friends and clients to see if the concept measured up. “It works every time,” Sara Levy, who said she has stunning “before” and “after” pictures to prove it.
Sara and Ruth Levy’s unique and inexpensive fashion concept caught the attention of the producers of “Rachael Ray” and they were asked to be on the program. “I was shopping at Stumps when the producer called me,” Sara Levy said. “I was stunned.” She and four model/friends from Rancho Santa Fe quickly packed their bags and flew to New York to tape the show on March 3. Ruth, who lives in Zurich, Switzerland, traveled across the Atlantic to join them. “Rachael Ray was a little sceptical at first,” Sara said. “But she quickly became a believer. She said, ‘Wow, this is like ‘The Da Vinci Code’ meets fashion.’”
Sara and Ruth Levy used Rancho Santa Fe models to demonstrate startling “before” and “after” effects. Models wore clothes purchased off the rack and then returned wearing the same outfit, slightly altered, using the divine proportion theory applied to each individual. The surprising results had great impact on the program. Models included Barbara McClanahan, Jori Potiker-Brown, Lisa Gillespie and Mary Gaylord.
Sara and Ruth Levy will be demonstrating The Fashion Code at the Rancho Santa Fe Community Center from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 20. The cost is $25 for members/ $30 for nonmembers. “Whether you’re a stay-at-home mom or a career woman, come learn how this invaluable tool will transform your existing wardrobe without costing a fortune,” Sara Levy said.
