ENCINITAS — The San Dieguito Union High School District has tapped one of its own administrators to serve as superintendent on a temporary basis.
Eric Dill, the associate superintendent of business services, was selected to replace Rick Schmitt, who is leaving to take the same role in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District in Northern California.
Both Dill an Schmitt assume their new roles July 1.
Dill has been with San Dieguito Union school district since 2001 and was promoted to his current role in 2010.
Meanwhile, the district continues its search for a permanent superintendent, holding two public forums this week to accept community input on the search and gathering additional information through an online survey.
Parents can fill out the survey until 4 p.m. June 13 on the district’s website, sduhsd.net
