CARLSBAD — Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad raised nearly $90,000 at its annual golf tournament March 28 at the El Camino Country Club in Oceanside. All proceeds directly support the club’s programs and services.
This year’s winning teams included, in the top spot, Rich Berman, Dan Brown, Tom Schmedake and Stephanie Tranberg. In second place were Robert Fitswell, Joedy Gardner, Keith Scott and Mike Wheelihan. The team of Tom Bertrand, Pete Dreibelbis, Augie Kee and George Young came in third.
TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company and Vice President Pete Sanchez were honored for their many years of collaboration, as reflected in the tournament’s theme “Clubs for a Brighter Future.” Joining Randy Ferren and Sanchez in creating and executing the event were the 2011 Golf Committee and volunteers Jerry Carter, Ryan Grant, Scott Grugel, Matt Harelson, Eddie Maldonado, Scott McCary, Linda Millen, Trisa Mills, Jim Morrison, Brendan Pagan and Collin Sorensen.
