Film Club selects seasons showings

OCEANSIDE — The North County Film Club will begin its second year, in January with films at the UltraStar Mission MarketPlace Theater. Its season will consist of 10 foreign and independent films and members are invited to help in the selection of the films to be shown.
The group has chosen 22 films listed below. As soon as the group receives these film titles from UltraStar, a list will be sent out to paid members for a vote. To join, make out the check for the $10 membership fee and mail to North County Film Club, P.O. Box 56, San Luis Rey, Ca., 92068. With this NCFC membership card the cost of admittance to an UltraStar Mission Market Place movie is $6.50 plus a free 16-ounce popcorn when you attend any UltraStar Theater.
Films nominated for the Winter-Spring Season are “Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky;” “The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest; “The Girl Who Played With Fire;” “Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work;” “Winter’s Bone;” “Five Minutes of Heaven;” “The Kids Are Alright;” “Mao’s Last Dancer;” “MicMacs;” “The Concert;” “My One And Only;” “The King’s Speech;” “The Extra Man;” “Colin Fitz Lives;” “The Illusionist;” “Moon;” “Ponyo;” “Summer Hours;” “Cell 211;” “The Black Balloon;” and “Get Low.”
