Dog park takes a month off

OCEANSIDE — Dog park regulars will have to find another place to exercise their pets during the month of April.
The North County Humane Society & SPCA plans to close the NCHS dog park for its annual maintenance on April 1 and it will remain closed until May 1. The park, owned and maintained by the Humane Society, closes for one month each year to maintain the landscape.
“Our goal is to maintain a high quality park so we need to close for maintenance each year,” NCHS Executive Director Julie Bank said. “This park is entirely funded by gifts from the public so we would like to take this opportunity to thank those who donate money towards keeping it open.”
The dog park is routinely closed every Wednesday, on rain days and for up to two days after the rain. It is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. six days a week. You can check the park status each day during regular business hours by calling (760) 757-4357, ext. 1265.
