DEL MAR — Volunteers are being sought to fill existing and upcoming vacancies on several Del Mar advisory agencies.
The Finance Committee is seeking to fill an existing vacancy with the departure of Brad Allison, whose term ends July 20, 2009, and an upcoming vacancy this July, when Terry Sinnott’s appointment expires.
This seven-member committee reviews the annual budget and quarterly financial reports.
It also researches and reports on financial issues such as a cost analysis of the fairgrounds, the development of the City Hall property and the costs to underground overhead utilities.
Members, who should have finance experience, serve three-year terms that expire July 30.
Brittany Oates’ recent resignation leaves a vacancy on the Design Review Board. Her four-year term expires in February 2011.
The design review process encourages good design and appropriate use of landscaping to preserve the city’s scenic and natural resources. The seven members meet the fourth Wednesday of the month to evaluate application proposals.
With the terms of John Kerridge and Robin Nordhoff expiring at the end of June, two residents are needed for the Planning Commission.
This five-member board, which meets the second Tuesday of the month, administers the community plan and zoning ordinance, conducts public hearings and considers land use applications. Residents serve four-year terms.
The San Dieguito Lagoon Preservation Committee will have a vacancy when Justin Kulongoski’s term ends at the end of July.
The lagoon committee oversees the preservation and enhancement of the San Dieguito Lagoon to ensure its function, health and accessibility. The 10 members participate in ongoing regional and local programs.
