RANCHO SANTA FE — With a new year full of art-related projects planned, the Rancho Santa Fe Art Guild is encouraging residents of the Ranch to join in the celebration of the visual arts within the community.
There are many different ways to join in this celebration the visual arts in the ranch. Regular members (artists who reside in Rancho Santa Fe) will have the opportunity to display their work in the gallery. Associate members can get involved in providing scholarships and promoting the creation of an understanding of visual arts for the young and less fortunate. Volunteers can get involved with gallery sittings and various projects but need not pay for membership or be a resident of the Ranch. Patrons will have the opportunity to propel the guild’s ultimate goal of developing a culture center in Rancho Santa Fe, as well as getting involved in fundraising activities. Residents can offer their homes for plein air painting.
Among the projects planned for the year are “Art and Music on the Lawn,” a jazz festival with the Peter Pupping Band combined with a plein air painting event featuring paintings of the ranch at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe.
In September “A Finer Art Affaire,” in the park will feature more than 100 artists from Southern California. A capitol campaign for a Rancho Santa Fe Cultural Center is planned as well as fundraising events for San Pasqual Academy art scholarship awards and ARTS — A Reason To Survive Alive for underprivileged children.

“Expressionism” art show is now open through Feb. 28 at the Rancho Santa Fe Art Gallery at 6004 Paseo Delicias. Works displayed include large abstracts, representational subjects and realistic bird sculptures.
