CARLSBAD – A gunfight in the dusty street, mechanical bull riding and a salsa contest – those were just some of the festivities during the Wild West Days at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park on Sunday.

The park, which used to be a real working ranch owned by Carrillo, gave visitors a chance to tour the property, and see the adobe buildings and stables.

In 2003, the ranch was designated a Historic National Landmark.
