RANCHO SANTA FE — The Rancho Santa Fe Community Center is known for hosting spectacular annual galas. Marking their 10th annual event May 17, they’ve decided to do something quite unique. Their “Moroccan Fantasy Gala,” will be held at their very own community center and its becoming a highly anticipated event.
Event co-chairs Alexia Bregman and Alex Johnson decided to transform the community center into evening oasis.
“This is pretty groundbreaking for us because we previously held our galas at different venues,” Bregman said. “We felt that it was really important this year for the gala to be held at the community center because this is the organization that we are supporting.”
Having a theme of “transformation” was important. It goes in tandem with how the community center has enriched lives through programs, events, recreation and services for both children and adults of all ages.
Bregman said the Moroccan theme offers the platform to be transformative so guests can emerge themselves into an exotic oasis brimful of a hookah lounge, communal table, exotic entertainment and rituals, Moroccan inspired three-course dinner and signature cocktail.
“We are a community where a lot of people go to so many galas and events and go to the same places,” Bregman said. She continued, “People are excited to know that we are doing something inventive and transformative and it’s a great opportunity to let your hair down in a new kind of environment.”
The co-chairs are expecting 250 attendees at the gala.
Johnson wants people to know the proceeds raised that evening will go back into the community center to support their programs and services.
And having the guests at the community event for the gala, Johnson shared, will make the experience so much more intimate so people can actually visualize where the monies will go towards.
“The community center is a place that ignites the inspiration and imagination of our children and we hope this gala will bring the same sense of wonder and imagination to the adults of our community,” Johnson said.
Tickets are already selling but some still remain as well as sponsorship opportunities. For more information about the gala, as well as optional Moroccan attire ideas, the co-chairs invite interested parties to visit rsfcc.org or call (858) 756-2461
