MiraCosta College’s Superintendent/President Dr. Francisco Rodriguez has accepted a three-year term on the National Science Foundation Education and Human Resources Advisory Committee. Among its duties, the committee advises the NSF on effective and efficient strategies for meeting the challenges of science, math, engineering, and technology education (STEM) at all levels in the United States.

Jim Panknin, a 27-year veteran of the aviation field, has been appointed chief pilot for Schubach Aviation, a private air charter company based at Palomar Airport in Carlsbad.
Panknin will be charged with overseeing pilot training, safety, personnel management and regulations compliance for the company.
