Federal judge issues injunction to stop ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’

RIVERSIDE — Sandiego6.com reports that a federal judge in Riverside has issued a nationwide injunction stopping enforcement of “don’t ask, don’t tell.”
U.S. District Judge Virginia Phillip declared the law unconstitutional following a two-week trial brought upon by the Log Cabin Republicans, a pro-gay group.
There is a 60-day window for the U.S. Department of Justice to appeal the decision, though legal experts say they are not legally obligated to do so.
