Meet the author, support a good cause

OCEANSIDE — North County author Eric Peterson will be talking and signing copies of his first novel, “Life as a Sandwich,” at the Barnes and Noble in Oceanside from 5 to 8 p.m. April 30.
The book is about the sandwich generation — adults caught between raising children, surviving demanding careers, and caring for aging parents. Meet Wallace Noe, a blue-suited suburbanite trying to balance his complicated and conflicting role as an entrepreneur, husband, father, son-in-law, and law-abiding citizen.
Peterson delivers a hilarious and entertaining look at one man’s decision to leave his comfortable consulting career and stake everything on a start-up company, never imagining the sequence of events that will shatter his world as he knew it.
Barnes and Noble will be donating a portion of their book sales that evening to a North County Health Services program called Reach Out and Read.
The program furnishes children’s books to waiting rooms in North County Health Service clinics. They urge the medical staffs to counsel parents on the need to read to their children.
